Today Neogama is known throughout the world as a premiere advertising agencies in existence, but many don’t know that it was a dream nearly 20 years in the making. After graduating from Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP), Alexandre Gama could only find work as a copywriter at DM9. Back in the 1980s Brazil was not exactly a hotbed for advertising but Gama persisted that he was chasing his dreams. His first big break came in 1990 when Stand & Ogilvy took him on as a Creative Director. Once there, Gama began to be noticed by the industry and in 1996 he took over as CEO/COO at Young & Rubicam.
In 1999, Gama took the leap by created his own agency and his dream became a reality. His work was soon recognized at the Cannes Film Festival, where his agency has won 23 Golden Lions in the past 20 years.
