Transit Experts Meet To Address The Traffic Problem Experienced In Williamson County

During the Williamson County Growth Summit, transit professionals discussed on the various ways of solving the transportation challenges faced by the suburban communities of the region. It was held on Thursday at Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel & Conference Center. The discussion panel, which was led by Round Rock Mayor Alan McGraw, included the executive director of the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority (CTRMA), Mike Heiligenstein. The others were the founder of Ridescout LLC, Joseph Kopser, Texas External Affairs Director of Uber Technologies, Leandre Johns, and transportation product designer behind the idea of an aerial gondola system for Central Austin, Jared Ficklin of ArgoDesign. Unlike other Austin Business Journal’s Annual Williamson County Summits that focus on the city itself, the 19th edition focused on how technology is changing the transportation industry in Austin and across the Globe.

Commenting on emerging technologies of autonomous vehicles and ridesharing apps, Mike said that they could transform the transportation infrastructure but the adoption rate would be slow and tedious. He insisted that investing in the growth of Austin’s transportation capacity by building smarter roads and adding more buses would be the surest way to solve the transportation needs of a rapidly growing population. Responding on how policymakers should prepare for the future transportation needs, Ficklin insisted on the need of building and land-use codes to remain flexible. For instance, current building codes cannot accommodate packing garage needs of the future, which will require multiple levels with charging stations and service stations on opposite levels.

He explained that the model would make it easy for people to get to the bus stop. The director pointed out on the need to partner with such ridesharing companies to come up with subsidies that benefit both the rider and the transit agency. Focus of the Latest Williamson County Growth Summit

Mike Heiligenstein initiated the discussion in the summit by addressing the need of expanding the transportation capacity for the rapidly growing population of Williamson County. He highlighted that this could be done by modifying the roads within the suburb. He states that the modification or construction of the roads must be done through clever designing. With the innovation of adeptly designed technological devices such as self-driving cars coming into the picture of the American transit system, new modifications are required to accommodate the increasing population while welcoming new technology. He mentions that efficiently designed vehicle parking garages will always be required to save space and serve transport services. Furthermore, Jared Ficklin stated that the structural designs and codes need to be flexible at all times to meet with the technological changes. With decades of experience, Cotemar will lead revamped oil sector

Cotemar is currently one of Cotemar”>Mexico’s largest petroleum services companies. Since its founding in 1979, it has only serviced one client – state oil monopoly Pemex. Since 1938, Pemex was, by law, the only entity able to own or operate Mexico’s vast petroleum reserves. But with game-changing legislation in 2013, the 75 year old, state-imposed monopoly came to an end. Today, Mexico’s oil industry on is in transition from being a wholly owned subsidiary of the state to being a modern, global marketplace where competitive international players can vie for every contract issued. In this dynamic new environment, Cotemar and other services firms like it stand to make huge gains as giga-barrels of previously untapped deposits become viable targets for extraction.

A sea change requires new vessels

Cotemar was founded in 1979. That was a good year to be in the Mexican petroleum sector but the decades that followed would prove to be the true golden age of Mexican oil. Throughout the 80s, new wells were discovered and brought online at an astonishing pace. Cotemar’s business exploded and it soon found itself with thousands of employees operating billions of dollars on in assets and capital equipment.

But even the 1980-1995 boom period paled next to what came when widespread nitrogen injection was introduced to Mexico’s faltering wells in the mid-90s on Between 1995 and 2004 Mexican oil production smashed all previous records, hitting production of 2.1 billion barrels per day for the Cantarell field alone. Through this period, the Cantarell field became the second most productive oil field in the world behind Saudi Arabia’s Ghawar deposits.

But then in 2004 the moment of reckoning came. Experts had long predicted that Mexico’s local peak-oil would be reached and thereafter its production would fall into terminal decline. This began happening at a staggering rate starting in late 2004 and continued for the next decade. Mexico had depleted all of its so called “easy oil” and was left with difficult-to-extract shale and deep water reserves that would require a massive influx of foreign capital and expertise at

Through all of this Cotemar was there, gaining valuable experience and practical knowledge of both the unique geographic challenges of Mexican crude extraction as well as the subtleties of the Mexican political scene.
